Early 2005, Bertrand Legrand, William and Lambert Briatte, longtime friends, decide to form a rock band. This project, carefully planned, takes shape thanks to few basic song structures composed in the past and which end up becoming the riffs of I am a Dreamer, Under the Surface and Flies & Bees.
At the same time, Camille Camatta and Pierre Cadei, both in search of a band, published an advertisement on the web and in the press. The band BigBangBayBees auditioned the guitarist and drummer. The chemistry is perfect and they join the band without further delay.
End of 2005, the band finally complete starts to work. A first set of songs is quickly put together. It encompasses the first compositions of the band as well as cover songs representing major influences on the 5 musicians (Muse, Guns N’ Roses, Pearl Jam, Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots).

In 2006, the BigBangBayBees composed the songs Pandora, Too Long, Perfect Day and Under the Surface, and finalise the structure of Flies & Bees.

The end of the year marks a first stage in the life of the band and the 5 musicians decide to record their 1st EP. This self-production will hit a lot of roadblocks and a whole year will be necessary to elaborate this record.

Olivier and Jeremy, from the 9th Wonders (Cerexbiotik, Boys and Girl record) come to the rescue and finalise the project which include the titles I am a Dreamer, Too Long, Pandora and Under the Surface.

This EP allows the opening of the band’s MySpace profile, which present the 4 songs and to inform online of the activity of the combo. Good critics follow as well as daily listening.

2007 is the year of the first real concerts as well as a prolific creative time for the band: radio plays (radio Marseillette) and important live exposure (festival Musicalagarde, Fairfield Café, fête de la musique at Montpellier,). Herocaïne, Butterfly Man, City of Light and Lost Letter are composed. Through these songs a change is being felt and the musical identity of the BigBangBayBees takes shape.
The band decides to record a new EP. They get in contact with a recording studio from Toulouse which is interested in their potential and even propose them to record an album.
A year and a half after the first takes, the album is far from being finished. The Bees decides then to stop their collaboration with the recording studio and the sound engineer.

In October 2008, Bertrand has to quit and the band ends up without bass player. Difficulties are piling up but the 4 musicians remain determined.

From 2009 to 2010, 2 bass players are auditioned then hired but the chemistry is not there. The Bees’ inspiration declines and numerous songs remain unfinished.
Despite all of this, the band keeps gigging (le Dollar, festival Musicalagarde, la Taverne, la Notte). They take part to a battle of the band competition and reach the semifinal.

Mid 2010, the composition of Queen of the Night restores the band’s creativity. They solicit once more the skills of Jeremy and Olivier in order to record a second EP which is achieved in 5 months.

End of 2010, Bertrand comes back among the Bees. The original line up is reunited and the creative process is prolific: Monsters, The Distance Between You and Me, Migration et Standing.

2011 promises to be a year rich of events, the EP is going to be widely distributed in order to multiply the concerts which will allow the band to be better known of the public and professionals. The recording of a full length album is planned for next September.
